Policy Scope & Updates

Scope. The purpose of our Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is to describe how the websites, mobile applications, and online services owned or operated by us (collectively called the “Site” in this Policy) process your information in connection with the products and services that we offer. This Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information and how we keep it safe. It also explains where you can go to exercise your rights and choices about how your personal information is used. Before you provide us with your information or otherwise use our Site, you should read through this Policy and our Terms of Use to make sure that you are comfortable with our privacy practices. 

Brands. Our Site is owned, operated, and maintained by KIMBERLY-CLARK CORPORATION and our affiliated companies and brands (“Kimberly-Clark”, “we”, “our” or “us”).  

State- or Country-Specific Disclosures. This Policy includes additional state- or country-specific information (such as the specific rights regarding your personal information that may be available in your jurisdiction) within the State- or Country-Specific Disclosures section. If there is a conflict between this Policy and the State- or Country-Specific Disclosures section, the latter will control only as to the extent of the conflict. This policy does not apply to personal information of users located in the Russian Federation; the privacy policy for users in the Russian Federation is located here.

Other Policies. In addition to this Policy, there may be other specific Kimberly-Clark products, services or promotions that are governed by additional policies or terms of use. In those cases, we’ll notify you of these additional terms. 

Updates to this Policy. We may update the Policy from time-to-time by posting a new notice, so please note the date last updated above and occasionally check for updates. 

What Personal Information We Collect

Personal Information. Personal information (“PI”) means any information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify a specific individual. We may collect personal information from a variety of sources. These sources include personal information that:

  • you give to us directly (e.g., when you sign up for things like newsletters, sweepstakes, surveys or promotions or register for an account on our Sites and provide information like your name, email address and date of birth);
  • we collect automatically (e.g., when you browse our Site and interact with us online, we (or our partners) may use cookies and tracking technologies to obtain your personal information); and
  • we collect from other sources and partners (e.g., when we purchase personal information about you from a third party to better personalize your experience or market to your interests).

The types of personal information we obtain include:

  • contact information, such as your name, postal address and/or zip code, email address, and telephone/mobile number; we may also collect your child’s name and date of birth from you;
  • account information, such as your username and password (e.g., if you choose to create an account on the Site);
  • purchase history information, such as when you make a purchase from us or our partners;
  • loyalty and rewards information, such as when you sign up for loyalty programs;
  • characteristics and attributes, such as age ranges, languages spoken, and marital and family status either collected by us or our partners;
  • preferences, such as hobbies, interests, shopping preferences, and product propensity scores (e.g., likelihood of purchasing products) either collected by us or our partners;
  • online or technical information, such as device, browser, mobile application, system and internet protocol addresses, and identifiers; and
  • inferred information, such as information derived from the information listed in this section.

Sensitive Personal Information. For the purposes of processing listed in this Policy, we (or our partners) may collect and process sensitive personal information. This may include information such as your race, ethnicity, date of birth, or data related to your use of our Site or products such as pregnancy, allergies (e.g., allergy trigger quizzes), menstruation (e.g., period calculators), or incontinence. We may also make inferences about your preferences, behaviors, characteristics, health, or attributes related to your use of our Site or products. When we collect data that may be considered “sensitive”, we (or our partners) will request your consent to process such sensitive personal information and we may provide other controls (like an opt-out of certain processing), when required by law. Please note that certain portions of the Site may require this data for us to fully provide our services, so your choice to not provide such information may limit the scope of available offerings. We respect our customers’ rights and heightened privacy interests pertaining to sensitive personal information. As such, we commit to verifying that law enforcement entities follow the laws and procedures in their jurisdictions before we respond to a request for such information. Even when compliant with the laws of the requesting agency’s jurisdiction, we may make reasonable challenges to such requests.


What We Do With Your Information

Purposes of Processing. We collect, process, and disclose your personal information only for specific and limited purposes. For example, we may process your personal information across all Kimberly-Clark brands to:

  • develop, provide and improve our products, services, communication methods, and the functionality of our Site;
  • process requests and manage our business needs regarding the products, offers and services we provide; this also includes responding to your questions and verifying your identity when necessary when you contact us;
  • provide personalized experiences, transactional and marketing communications, and targeted advertising including special offers and recommendations to you;
  • better understand your interests and create profiles by analyzing information about your attributes, characteristics, and behaviors for internal research; and to establish, deliver and measure advertising/marketing campaigns to you or to people like you;
  • secure and protect your personal information and our interests; this includes preventing and investigating illegal activities, fraud and violations of our Terms of Use policies and other service conditions; and
  • comply with legal requirements, including cooperating with law enforcement, government authorities, or governmental mandate (but when we do, we will disclose only the minimum amount of information required by law).

Legal Bases. Additionally, certain data protection laws require us to have a “legal basis” and defined purpose before processing any personal information about you. Our legal bases for which we may process your personal information may include:

  • to establish or perform the contract we are about to enter (or have entered) into with you;
  • for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) which will not override your interests and fundamental rights; this includes many of purposes of processing listed above;
  • with your consent; this includes, for example, to personalize, deliver and measure certain direct marketing and advertising communications concerning our products and services; our communications may be sent by both non-automated and automated means (e.g., email, social media messages, SMS, MMS, automated dialing systems, or calls by human operators); and/or
  • where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation and/or respond to requests from public and government authorities. This may include disclosing your information to law enforcement agencies or as required to comply with laws or regulations (including antifraud laws, money laundering, or tax laws) as well as transferring your personal information in connection with any potential or actual merger or sale of assets as part of a corporate transaction. When we process personal information on this basis, consistent with this Policy, we carefully review each request to ensure it is valid and that the requestor is entitled to the personal information they seek (and may challenge such requests as appropriate).

Who We Share Information With

We may share information about you with our brands as well as third parties in certain circumstances including in the following situations:

  • Sharing Your Information with Service Providers. We may share personal information with companies or individuals that provide us with services. These services may include, among other things, helping us to provide services to you; to create or maintain our databases; process payments; prepare and distribute communications; or to respond to inquiries;
  • Other Third Parties and Partners. To better tailor your experiences and interests for advertising and marketing, your personal information may also be used by us or shared with partners, advertisers, advertising networks, advertising servers, social media networks, analytics companies and similar third parties. These third parties and their websites, platforms, and applications generally have their own privacy policies and terms of use. We encourage you to read them before using those websites and services;
  • Blogs, Online Postings, and Testimonials. You may share comments, posts, testimonials, or other information on certain forums such as our Sites or social media networks. If you choose to do so, this information may be generally available to the public and read by others who access these forums. Again, third parties and their websites, platforms, and applications generally have their own privacy policies and terms of use and you should review those notices prior to using those sites;
  • Deidentified Information. We may share deidentified information (e.g., aggregated or grouped information) that doesn’t identify you personally with third parties for research or other purposes identified in this Policy. When we share this information, we require these third parties to agree not to attempt or to allow others to use it to identify individuals;
  • Law Enforcement and Legal Reasons. Subject to applicable contractual restrictions and other internal procedures limiting disclosures to law enforcement (discussed above), we also may disclose personal information (1) if we are required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order or subpoena); (2) in response to requests by government agencies (such as law enforcement or regulatory authorities); (3) to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights; (4) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical or other harm or financial loss or to protect your other vital interests; or (5) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity;
  • Business Transactions. We reserve the right to transfer any personal information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a merger, acquisition, joint venture, reorganization, divestiture, dissolution, or liquidation); and/or
  • International Data Transfers. We may transfer your personal information with our brands and trusted-third parties outside of the country or territory from where you reside. When these third countries do not offer the same level of data protection as your country, we (or our service providers or their contractors/sub-processors) take steps to make sure that there are adequate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information. For example, these adequate safeguards may include your consent or involve binding the third party transferring your personal information to a contract that requires the same level of standards as the country from which the data was collected. In addition, we comply with certain national or country “localization” laws that, among other things, require personal information about their residents to be collected, processed and/or stored inside the country before being transferred internationally.
  • Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools. K-C may use generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to, without limitation, improve our products and services and better utilize the data you provide to us. K-C maintains a rigorous review process for deployment of generative AI solutions and rules governing our employees’ and contractors’ use of generative AI, including setting limitations on the purposes for which personal data may be processed by generative AI technology. K-C may require vendors whose services to us include the use of generative AI tools to agree to contractual limitations designed to protect the privacy of personal information when such tools are used.

Your Privacy Rights

Individual Rights. Where we process your personal information, you may be entitled to certain rights made available through applicable data protection laws. Some of these rights are explained below. How Long We Keep Personal Information and How we Protect It

Data Retention. We keep your information as long as we need it for business, tax or legal purposes, including the legal bases described in this Policy. After that, we either delete it or fully anonymize it. Please also consult the “State- or Country-Specific Disclosures” section of this Policy.

Data Security. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or use.


Data Related to Children

Our Site is intended for a general audience and is not aimed at or intended for children. As a general matter, we usually do not knowingly collect or process personal information from children under the age of 16, unless a lower age is provided or allowed by local law.

Where we do knowingly collect or process personal information from children under the age of 16 (or under an age stipulated by local law), we follow all applicable data protection laws. For example, in the U.S., we obtain verified parental consent as required by law when collecting personal information from children younger than 13 years of age.


Our Policy on Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

  • Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies. When you visit our Site, we may obtain certain information by automated means, such as cookies, web server logs, web beacons, and other similar technologies and techniques.
  • A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser.
    • Strictly Necessary or Essential Cookies. These cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to your interaction with us such as browsing our Sites, requesting services, setting your privacy preferences, or logging in or filling in forms. You may be able to set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the Site may not work.
    • Functional, Marketing or Non-Essential Cookies. These cookies enable the Site to provide enhanced functionalities for the personalization of your experience and for marketing. These cookies may also allow us to count visits so we can measure and improve the performance of our Site. These cookies may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our Sites. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these functionalities may not function properly.
  • A “web beacon,” also known as an Internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF, links web pages to web servers and cookies and may be used to transmit information collected through cookies back to a web server.
  • Our Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies.
    • We may use these automated technologies on our Site to collect information about your equipment, browsing actions, and usage patterns. The information we obtain in this manner may include your device internet protocol (IP) address, device location or identifiers associated with your devices, types of devices connected to our Site, web browser characteristics, device characteristics, language preferences, referring/exit pages, clickstream data, and dates and times of visits to our Site or mobile applications.
      • These technologies help us (1) remember your information so you do not have to re-enter it; (2) track and understand how you use and interact with our Site; (3) tailor the Site around your preferences for marketing and advertising; (4) measure the usability of our Site or mobile applications and the effectiveness of our communications; and (5) otherwise manage our business, enhance our services and help ensure they are working properly.
    • We use session replay/screen capture tools with your consent to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize our websites and the end user experience. We and/or our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to track users’ activity on the websites (i.e., to learn how you use and navigate the services) to provide this information.
    • We may periodically use services like YouTube’s service to host video content and embed YouTube's player on our Site to allow you to watch the video without leaving our Site. This functionality may set cookies or otherwise collect information once you click on the YouTube video player.
  • Controlling or Deleting Cookies.
    • We provide tracking technology management and consent tools on our Sites, where required by applicable law. These tools typically deploy a “cookie settings” option that permits you to control which non-essential cookies and similar technologies we and our providers place on your device. If tracking technology management tools are deployed on the Site you are visiting, you can view and choose the cookies (like those described above) set by us or by our third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.

California Privacy Rights Act Statement

This California Consumer Privacy Statement (“Statement”) supplements Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s Privacy Policy . It applies solely to California consumers and addresses personal information we collect online and offline. This Statement does not apply to Kimberly-Clark personnel. Sections 2-5 of this Statement do not apply to job applicants.

This Statement uses certain terms that have the meaning given to them in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020, along with any implementing regulations (the “CCPA”).


1. Notice of Collection and Use of Personal Information

We may collect (and may have collected during the 12-month period prior to the effective date of this Statement) the following categories of personal (including sensitive) information about you:

  • Identifiers: identifiers such as a real name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier (such as a device identifier; cookies, beacons, pixel tags, mobile ad identifiers and similar technology; customer number, unique pseudonym, or user alias; telephone number and other forms of persistent or probabilistic identifiers), internet protocol address, email address, and account name.

  • Additional Data Subject to Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80: signature, physical characteristics or description, education, and financial or health information.
  • Protected Classifications: characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law, such as race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, gender, medical condition, disability, citizenship status, and military and veteran status.
  • Commercial Information: commercial information, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, and other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.
  • Online Activity: Internet and other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with the Site.
  • Geolocation Data
  • Employment Information: professional or employment-related information.
  • Education Information: education information that is not publicly available personally identifiable information as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. Sec. 1232g; 34 C.F.R. Part 99)
  • Inferences: inferences drawn from any of the information identified above to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.

We may use (and may have used during the 12-month period prior to the effective date of this Statement) your personal information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and for the following business or commercial purposes specified in the CCPA:

  • Performing services, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, processing or fulfilling orders and transactions, verifying customer information, processing payments, providing advertising or marketing services, providing analytics services, or providing similar services
  • Auditing related to a current interaction with you and concurrent transactions, including, but not limited to, counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance
  • Short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, the contextual customization of ads shown as part of the same interaction
  • Detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity
  • Debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.

2. Sources of Personal Information

During the 12-month period prior to the effective date of this Statement, we may have obtained personal information about you from the following categories of sources:

  • Your family or friends, such as when they provide us with your contact information so we can send information that may interest you

3. Selling or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information in exchange for monetary consideration without your consent.


We may allow certain third parties (such as online advertising services) to collect your personal information via automated technologies on our Site in exchange for non-monetary consideration. We share the categories of personal information listed below for the business and commercial purposes of online advertising and to provide third-party social network features and functionality on our Site. Those third parties may include Google, Coveo, Twitter, Facebook, EqualWeb, and Neustar. You can use our cookie preferences tool to see an up to date list of the third parties collecting information on our sites. Those third parties may use your personal information to optimize our properties, display cross-contextual advertising and manage their own platforms. You have the right to opt out of this disclosure of your information, which may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law, as set forth below in Section 5 (California Consumer Rights) of this Statement.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization if we have actual knowledge of the individual’s age. Any individuals who register for an account who are under 16 years of age are automatically opted out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. If an individual wants to opt-in and agree to the sale or sharing of their personal information, they must do so by affirmatively unchecking the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” box in their online profile.

5. California Consumer Privacy Rights

Privacy Rights. You have certain choices regarding your personal information, as described below. If you exercise any of these choices and rights, we will not disadvantage you. You will not be denied or charged different prices or rates for goods or services or provided a different level or quality of goods or services.

  • Know: You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information, the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  •  

  • Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete certain personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Correct: You have the right to correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.

  • Opt-Out of Sale or Share:You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, by either clicking to “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” links on our websites and apps or by calling 888-525-8373. Once we receive and verify your request, we will not sell or share your personal information unless you later allow us to do so. We may ask for your permission to resume sale or sharing of your personal information later, but we will wait at least 12 months before doing so. You may also opt-out of our sharing and selling through certain browser enabled opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control.   • Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: In some instances, we may use or disclose your sensitive personal information (e.g., information about your health or ethnicity) outside of the limited purposes set forth below. You have the right to direct us to limit our use and disclosure of such sensitive information. If you do, we may still use the information for certain limited purposes, such as the following: (i) performing our services or providing goods; (ii) detecting security incidents; (iii) resisting malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal actions; (iv) ensuring physical safety; (v) for short-term transient use, including certain non-personalized advertising; (vi) maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, verifying customer information, or providing similar services; and (vii) to verify and maintain the quality or safety of a service or product or to improve, upgrade or enhance a service or product.

  • Shine the Light Request: You also may have the right to request that we provide you with (a) a list of certain categories of personal information we have disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year and (b) the identity of those third parties.

    Authorized Agents. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. To submit a request as an authorized agent on behalf of a consumer, please contact us as described in the How to Contact Us section of our Privacy Policy.


    Verifying Requests. To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your request. If you have an account with us, we may verify your identity by requiring you to sign into your account. If you do not have an account with us and you request access to or deletion of your personal information, we may require you to provide any of the following information: first name, last name, month & year of birth, email address, mailing address. In addition, if you do not have an account and you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we will require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request. If you designate an authorized agent to make an access, deletion or opt-out of sale request on your behalf (a) we may require you to provide the authorized agent written permission to do so, and (b) for access and deletion requests, we may require you to verify your own identity directly with us (as described above).


    CCPA Metrics For the Prior Calendar Year. As reflected in this Statement, the CCPA provides California residents with specific rights, such as the right to know, delete, correct, opt-out of sale/sharing personal information, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. Under the CCPA, certain businesses that process these requests must publish information about these rights. That information for California residents for the period of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024 is below.

    Financial Incentives. Creating an online account or participating in a financial incentive program such as loyalty programs or coupon-based initiatives administered by us or our partners may entitle you to receive special offers and benefits from us. To administer such programs, we may need to sell, collect, disclose, or retain your personal information. For our loyalty programs, such as Huggies® Rewards+, members may earn coupons or reward points for signing up, purchasing our products, and participating in certain other activities, such as taking surveys, sharing posts on Facebook and Twitter, and connecting friends to our loyalty and discount programs. These points can be used toward entering sweepstakes and games, donating to charity and redeeming rewards. We calculate the value of your data based on the return on investment or incremental margin generated by us from administering financial incentives and from the sale, collection, or retention of your personal information. You may end your online account (which will withdraw you from the financial incentives) at any time by entering a request at www.privacy.kimclark.com, calling us at 1-888-525-8373, or emailing us at privacy@kcc.com.


    Additional Information. If you choose to exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by us.


    Data Retention. We keep records and personal information for specified periods of time, depending on business needs, privacy interests and the law. As a general matter, we only retain personal information for as long as it is needed or useful for accomplishing a business, legal or tax purpose. After such period, the data is deleted or fully anonymized:

    1. data not processed based on your consent, but collected to fulfill our contractual obligations to you is retained while we have a relationship with you plus a period of no more than 10 years after that relationship ends, except when the retention of the data is necessary to enforce or defend our rights or comply with law; and

    Washington Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

    This portion of our Policy only applies to Washington state residents.

    As a Washington resident, the Washington State My Health My Data (MHMD) Act gives you certain choices regarding your health data, as described below. The law applies only to “consumer health data” about your past, present, or future health condition.

    Consumer Health Data We Collect

    We collect data from a variety of sources. Because consumer health data is defined very broadly, many of the categories of data we collect could also be considered consumer health data. Examples of consumer health data we collect may include:

    • Information about your health-related conditions, symptoms, status, diagnoses, testing, or treatments.     Sources of Consumer Health Data

    We collect personal data (which may include consumer health data) from three main sources:

    • You provide us this information directly when you purchase products, sign up for newsletters, fill out surveys (such as the period calculator or allergy quiz), enter promotions, or register for an account on our website.
    • We collect some of this information automatically when you browse our website or interact with us online.
    • We may collect consumer health information from other sources and partners, such as when we purchase information about you from a third party to personalize your experience or market to your interests.

    Why We Collect and Use Consumer Health Data

    We collect and use consumer health data as reasonably necessary to provide you with the products and/or services you have requested and to market to your interests. Providing requested products and services to you may include delivering the products, making suggestions about what products are appropriate for you, and/or personalization of certain product features. We also use consumer health data to improve our products and for other essential business operations, such as analyzing our performance, meeting legal obligations, and conducting research and development.

    We may also use consumer health data to market or advertise our own products and services. We may also use your purchase history or information received from third parties to advertise other products we sell that we think may be of interest to you.

    Disclosures of Consumer Health Data

    How to Exercise Your Rights

    Washington’s MHMD Act provides certain rights with respect to consumer health data. These rights include your right to access your consumer health data and receive a list of all third parties and affiliates—including contact information—who receive your health data. You also have the right to request that we delete our consumer health data. You can withdraw consent relating to the collection and sharing of your data too, subject to certain exceptions.
